FMCSA Company Census File

Company records come from the FMCSA Company Census File, filtered to physical addresses in North Carolina and retrieved November 4, 2026. The initial directory list includes active registrations identified as carriers with at least one reported power unit.

  • The list is a screening list, not a verified roster of for-hire trucking companies. It includes private fleets, which we label separately.
  • It excludes companies headquartered outside North Carolina, businesses not in FMCSA records, shipper-only entities, and entities with active Hazardous Materials Special Permits.
  • The source is updated daily by FMCSA; our copy reflects the import date shown on each listing.
  • Business type is derived from the filing's classification fields and may be reviewed and corrected by our team.

What registration status means

An “Active FMCSA registration” reflects the census record. It is not proof of current operating authority, insurance, safety rating, or endorsement.
